Dinosaur paws
This cute dinosaur foot can be used to decorate the dinosaurs quiet book (the pattern is available in my book Crochet Activity Toys) or in any other projects, such as a baby mobile.

Materials and tools for crocheting
- 4-ply sport weight yarn of any color. I used YarnArt Jeans (55% cotton + 45% acrylic), 174 yards (160m), 1.76 ounces (50 g): orange 23. Yarn consumption per paw* ~ 1\6 skein. *Yarn consumption can increase up to 1.5 times when crocheting with yarn over (YO) way.
- Hook size 2 mm (or another suitable for yarn).
- Needle for sewing on details, scissors, stitch markers.
- Polyester stuffing.
Dimensions of the finished toy: ~ height 8 cm. The weight is 9 grams.
Abbreviations
- sc — single crochet
- inc — increase — crochet 2 sc in one stitch
- dec — single crochet decrease
- ch — chain stitch
- st — stitch
All pieces are crocheted in turned rows.
First piece
Foundation chain: Using orange, ch7 loosely.
Row 1: Beginning in 2nd ch from hook, 6 sc, ch2, turn. (6 sc)
Row 2: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 5 sc, inc, ch2, turn. (8 sc)
Row 3: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 7 sc, inc, ch1, turn. (10 sc)
Row 4: 10 sc, ch2, turn.
Row 5: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 9 sc, inc, ch2, turn. (12 sc)
Row 6: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 11 sc, inc, ch1, turn. (14 sc)
Row 7: 14 sc, ch2, turn.
Row 8: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 13 sc, inc, ch1, turn. (16 sc)
Rows 9 and 10: 16 sc, ch1, turn. (2 rows)
Row 11: 3 sc, mark the next st with the first st marker, 7 sc, mark the next st with the second st marker, 6 sc (Photo 1), ch2, turn. (16 sc)

Row 12: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3 sc, dec, ch1, turn. (5 sc)
Row 13: 5 sc, ch1, turn.
Row 14: 3 sc, dec, ch1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 15: 4 sc, ch1, turn.
Row 16: 2 sc, dec, ch1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 17: 3 sc, ch1, turn.
Row 18: 1 sc, dec, ch1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 19: dec. (1 sc)

Turn and join the yarn to 11th stitch of the Row 11 (second stitch marker, photo 3), ch1 and starting from the same stitch, crochet:

Rows 12 to 14: 6 sc, ch1, turn. (3 rows)
Row 15: 4 sc, dec, ch1, turn. (5 sc)
Row 16: 3 sc, dec, ch1, turn. (4 sc)
Rows 17 and 18: 4 sc, ch1, turn. (2 rows)
Row 19: 2 sc, dec, ch1, turn.(3 sc)
Row 20: 1 sc, dec, ch1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 21: 2 sc, ch1, turn.
Row 22: dec.

Join the yarn in the 4th stitch of the Row 11 (first stitch marker), ch1 and starting from the same stitch, crochet:
Row 12: 3 sc, inc, ch1, turn. (5 sc)
Row 13: 5 sc, ch1, turn.
Row 14: dec, 3 sc, ch1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 15: 4 sc, ch1, turn.
Row 16: dec, 2 sc, ch1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 17: 3 sc, ch1, turn.
Row 18: dec, 1 sc, ch1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 19: dec.

Second piece
Make the second piece the same as the first piece, but do not fasten off at the last toe.
Assembly
Align pieces, matching up all sides and toes (Photo 6). Work 1 sc per st/row through both pieces to join. Add some stuffing to the inside of the paw as you assembly. Invisible fasten off, secure yarn ends and hide between two layers. Photo 7.
